Add RouteDoodle to Your Home Screen

On a phone, you can put RouteDoodle on your home screen next to your other apps. Tapping its icon opens RouteDoodle full screen, without the browser's address bar and buttons, so the map gets the whole screen. Your phone is also less likely to clear the map data RouteDoodle keeps, so it starts faster. There's nothing to download from an app store.

First, open routedoodle.com in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android). If you got here from a link inside another app, like Instagram or Facebook, that app's built-in browser can't add to the home screen; look for its Open in browser option first.

iPhone

  1. Tap the Share button . On iOS 26 and later, tap the ••• button beside the address first, then Share.
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. If you see Open as Web App, leave it switched on.
  4. Tap Add.

On an iPhone, the home screen app keeps its own copy of your work, apart from Safari's, so a doodle you started in Safari won't be there. To bring it over, tap Share link at the bottom of the Share window in Safari, then paste the link into the search box in the home screen app.

Android

  1. Tap the ⋮ menu button at the top right of Chrome.
  2. Tap Add to home screen (on some phones it says Install app).
  3. If Chrome asks whether to install or create a shortcut, choose Install.
  4. Tap Install or Add to confirm.
